Blog Post 6

 Getting used to using Diigo at first was a bit challenging to navigate, however when I started to get use to the program I was able to effectively use it. With the ability to bookmark it helped when reading through important material and having the ability to bookmark it. Things that made it hard when using Diigo was with the chrome extension trying to get used to show to use the program as well as tips for it. Other then downfalls of learning about the program, I would say for the most part I had a very enjoyable and efficient time using Diigo when it came to websites for help with bookmarking,organizing, archiving material found. Overall, I could definitely see myself using Diigo into the future! With blogging I really enjoy the ability to be able able to write about many different topics and personal viewpoints.  My early experiences with instagram for my own personal learning network first at a young age was associated with connection to friends and some of my favorite celebrities. As I had gotten older I began to use instagram in a different way, when applying for colleges I used instagram to learn about college, make connections, as well as use their pages to find other websites and resources I could use to learn more. Into college, Instagram functioned in a similar way, Instagram helped with assisting in university announcements, learning about organizations, as well as other resources about the university.  In first grade, standard LAFS.1.W.2.6 is fundamental to the implementation of the range of technology to create and produce writing in classroom with students and their peers. As a teacher, a standard is to allow the use of different digital technology such as Smartboard activities, class writing pages and blogs, as well as graphic softwares. Implementing these systems of technology allows students to be able to collaborate with other students in their writing. Working on digital programs such as class blogs, allows students to write, collaborate, and hold discussions. With the implementation of these digital technology by teachers it allows students to be able to hold more collaborative discussions and projects in a digital format.  In first grade in English language arts a standard includes being able to cite evidence and being able to explain the evidence with reasoning.  As a teacher following copyright and fair use, it is always right to give credit when using other people’s materials. Specially as a teacher, I believe it is right as a role model in education and to students to teach and show for example for students to give credit to others work. Copyright allows to establish someone’s ownership of their work and protects their work. Making sure to have students understand their own work and how copyright right works and how they can establish their own copyright of their materials is important in establishing the understanding of individual projects and works of students.
